Project Manager

Summary/Objective

Perform project estimating and management for civil construction projects including but not limited to: vertical construction site preparation, subdivision development, recreational waterways, site utilities, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, domestic water, pump stations, highways, roadways, site demolition, lakes and concrete construction. Work with engineering and estimating departments to complete comprehensive estimates in an accurate and timely manner.

Job Details

• Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project at hand
• Prepare Proposals from drawings and specs. Estimate excavation and backfill quantities using AgTek software, Auto CAD Civil 3D and HCSS
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
• Preform quality takeoffs
• Select metrics to produce valid estimates
• Visit sites to gather essential information
• Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, negotiating price
• Analyze data and produce forecasts
• Perform risk analysis
• Prepare detailed reports for submission to appropriate parties
• Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes
• Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.)
• Develop project timelines
• Manage projects start to finish
• Project contract development and implementation
• Meet project timelines
• Attend weekly project construction project progress meetings
• Work with general contractors with project specific details and coordination
• Coordinate project specific details with field staff and job superintendents
• Coordinate work schedules and project details with sub-contractors
• Procure construction materials for civil and utility projects
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• 10+ years of experience can be substituted for degree requirement
This position regularly requires long hours and some weekend work.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel will be expected. Must be willing to travel as the projects require.
